Please take note of the date October 6th. There will be many musicians performing, as well as memorabilia on display, and an audio visual presentation.

We thank you for your continued support for Groove Corporation, and the noteworthy career of Alex, whose musical legacy includes Crowbar with King Biscuit Boy, Harrison Kennedy (with the Rockin' Hurricanes), Bond, Trailblazers, and more. Brando's has invited us to be part of their 2010-2011 season, on Saturday, September 25th. It's a Saturday matinee, which is intelligently timed for 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

Tip of the hat and a thank you to Bruce Hall from the Grand River Blues Society, for kindly recommending us to Brando's.

Join us at the Balmy Beach Club, right on the shore of Lake Ontario at the foot of Beech Avenue... where else? The Beaches. While we've played the bustling Queen Street section of the Beaches International Jazz Festival Street Fest in previous years, for 2010, we get to enjoy the cool breeze on the lake at the outdoor patio of the historic Balmy Beach Club. Why not stroll the street fest for a while, and then make your way down to the sea shore for a refreshing injection of bluesy, funky, r'n'b soul music? It will make for a perfect evening. And you've got 3 whole nights to choose from.

July 17, 2009

[PDF Version] [Link to Full Story]

Excerpt: With a lineup of 15 artists, Hebert sifted through more than 1,000 submissions to come up with the weekend roster, which represents different styles of music from blues, to jazz to rhythm and blues, funk, Dixieland and gospel.

Among the homespun talent in this year’s festival are: singer/songwriter Melissa Bel, drummer Joel Haynes and Kim Campagnaro of the band Groove Corporation.

Burlington's Kim Campagnaro is the lead vocalist and conga player in Groove Corporation. He is joined on stage by a high-energy ensemble that includes Steve Hilbert on bass, lead guitarist Alex MacDougall, Lily Sazz on keyboards, Frank Vignanello on drums, Rob Gellner on trumpet, and Cole Benjamin and Pete McFarland on saxophones. Festival-goers will be privy to the funk, rhythm and blues, groove and soul sounds from the band’s latest album of original songs called, Record Profits.

Hamilton, Ontario

This is Hamilton mountain's original business district, offering great views from Sam Lawrence Park, as well as a variety of dining and shopping. The Concession Street Festival offers free fun for the whole family.

Hop a Bus! We're only five minutes from the city centre via Upper Gage, Upper Sherman and Upper Wentworth routes.

Come by Car! From highway 403 exit at Main St. East, and follow Main St to James South. Stay in the left lane as it curves around St. Joseph's Hospital, then move to the right to travel up the escarpment (the Jolley cut). Stay in the right lane to the Concession St. exit at the top of "the mountain".

By Stairs! The Wentworth Street Stairs connects Wentworth St. at the base of the mountain to the centre of our business area at the top of the escarpment. This route is often used as a fitness challenge.
